How do I book an appointment at one of your salons?

All of our salons operate on a first come first serve bases. There is a link on each salons site page that you can add your name to the queue for the approximate time you will be arriving, but keep in mind, this is not an appointment, this simply speeds up the check in process when you arrive at the salon and puts you in the line for the next available stylist.

What services do you provide?​

We are a full-service salon offering a range of services for the whole family, including haircutting, tapers and fades, hair colouring (such as highlights), permanent waves, blow-drying, styling, updos, facial grooming and waxing.

What are the salon hours

Depending on the salon location, our salons are open 6-7 days a week with some extended evening hours to 8:00 pm.

Where are the salons located?

We operate 4 salon brands, First Choice Haircutters, Magicuts, SmartStyle and Supercuts located in Durham Region, Uxbridge, Bowmanville Barrie, Orillia, Alliston, Angus, Bradford, Keswick, Newmarket, Aurora, Toronto, Oakville, Brampton, and Mississauga.

What products are available to buy from the salon?


We sell and use major salon-exclusive brands such as Matrix, Paul Mitchell, Reuzel and Nioxin. We are also proud to sell Canadian brands such as Alcove, Oligo, and, Design Me. The colour lines we use are Matrix, Oligo and Paul Mitchell.

How do I apply for a hairstylist position in one of your salons?

What are the minimum job requirements?

Answer: You must have your grade 12 diploma or equivalent and must have completed 1500 hours in a Hairstyling career collage.

What education do you provide?


We offer hands-on in-salon training courses with our in-house Artistic Directors to advance technical skills you learned in hairstyling school which allows you to keep current in the trade and will take your career to the next level. We also have an Education app with over 100 technical videos on all aspects of the industry from customer service, hair cutting, hair colouring to product knowledge and sales. In addition to all that we also have in-person and online classes facilitated by our top brand’s Artistic Directors such as Paul Mitchel, Design Me, Alcove, Oligo, and Reuzel.

What is the compensation

We pay a guaranteed hourly rate plus commission. Vacation pay and statutory holiday pay are provided. We offer a benefits package as well. Tips are retained by the stylist and paid out daily.

What are the career growth opportunities?


We are continuing to grow so we are always looking for talented stylists who are looking to advance their career into management and other positions. We offer an Emerging Leadership Training program for our up-and-coming managers and Leadership Essentials classes for our existing salon managers. We also offer opportunities to stylists who would like to share their talents with others by becoming one of our Design Team Educators.

Do you offer contests or other special events for your stylists?

 

Yes! Thought out the year we host various contest with exciting prizes for our stylists. In addition, we hold an annual skills competition, The Robinwood Inc. Diamond Comb Awards,  where stylists compete in four top categories. The winner receives an incredible education destination experience
